Thank you for your response. As far as I  can determine from the C.S.
department I  am back to square one. It's  been more than five years.
As to formulating a plan for a thesis, that's quite reasonable, and I
would be  interested in  suggestions from  you.   I have  a couple of
ideas too.  I had begun a thesis with Luckham but that's quite out of
date and since  I told Dave  I didn't want  to work for him  anymore,
he's not been particularly friendly anyway. 

I would certainly be able  to start working on a thesis this year and
apply next  year. This  year  I most  definitely  have to  work;  the
"computer-science-marriage-destruction bug" has struck and  so I have
to  generate some support  money. I am  currently in  24hr work mode,
sleeping Tues, Thur,  and Sat so I  won't be in  Tues, but should  be
around Wed. afternoon.
